Dieses 3,5/8mm-Fisheye-Objektiv (entsprechend 16mm-KB-Brennweite) erzeugt ein formatfüllendes Bild mit 180 Grad Bildwinkel.

Durch den großen Bildwinkel und den typischen Fisheye-Effekt bei der Abbildung ergeben sich eindrucksvolle Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten nicht nur beim Fotografieren, sondern auch für Videos, die so durch ungewöhnliche Perspektiven noch abwechslungsreicher werden.

Diese Objektivkonstruktion mit zehn Linsen in neun Gruppen ist äußerst kompakt und leicht, so wie es nur im Micro-FourThirds-System möglich ist. Ein ED-Linsenelement sorgt darin für eine gleichbleibend hohe optische Qualität mit minimaler chromatischer Aberration und Verzeichnung über den gesamten Entfernungsbereich. Die Innenfokussierung ermöglicht dabei Aufnahmen ab einer Mindestentfernung von nur 10 cm. Das Lumix G-Fisheye 3,5/8mm unterstützt den schnellen und präzisen Kontrast-Autofokus der Lumix G-Systemkameras. Ein Schrittmotor fokussiert ebenso zügig wie leise im Foto- und Video-Modus.

Sieben Blendenlamellen bilden eine runde Öffnung für eine gefällige Weichzeichnung der Unschärfebereiche beim Fotografieren mit größeren Blendenöffnungen. Die Mehrschichtvergütung der Linsenelemente bewirkt eine kontrastreiche Bildwiedergabe ohne Reflexe oder Geisterbilder und die optimal abgestimmte Streulichtblende schützt zusätzlich vor Reflexen. Eine Filterfolienhalterung an der Rückseite erlaubt den Einsatz von Gelatinefiltern. Das Objektiv ist mit einem soliden Metallbajonett ausgestattet.
