Mit nur 8 cm Länge und 34 g Gewicht ist das RØDE VideoMic Me der absolute Liebling von iPhone-Reportern jeder Art! Stets sendefähige und hoch-qualitative O-Ton-Aufnahmen, von vorne oder im Selfie-Modus - je nach Aufsteckrichtung. Das VideoMic Me ist ein professionelles Kondensatormikrofon, das dank Nierencharakteristik relativ unempfindlich gegenüber Schallwellen von hinten, links und rechts ist - und sich also akustisch auf das konzentriert, was vor der Linse passiert. Überaus praktisch ist die an der Rückseite eingebaute Kopfhörerbuchse. So es die App zulässt, kann man direkt während des Videodrehs die Tonaufnahme kontrollieren und spart sich auch bei der Wiedergabe eines Clips das lästige Umstecken von Mikrofon und Kopfhörer.

Das VideoMic Me hat ein Aluminiumgehäuse mit kratzfestem Keramiküberzug, welches es einerseits relativ unempfindlich gegenüber Einstreuungen macht und andererseits dafür sorgt, dass es auch nach Jahren noch manierlich aussieht. Wenn die Aufnahmen draußen stattfinden, sollte man unbedingt den beiliegenden Deluxe-Fellwindschutz aufpflanzen. Das geht blitzschnell, der Windschutz sitzt aufgrund des internen und passgenauen Kunststoffgeflechts sehr stabil und filtert die sonst unvermeidlichen und störenden Luftgeräusche bis ca. Windstärke 4-5 wirkungsvoll heraus.

Das RØDE VideoMic Me funktioniert natürlich genauso gut an einem iPad und vielen Android-Smartphones mit TRRS-Headset-Buchse, sofern diese sich nicht in unmittelbarer Nähe der Linse befindet.
