Bei Geschwindigkeiten bis zu 5 Gbit/s wird USB 3.0 schnell zum neuen Standard in der Datenübertragungstechnik für PCs und Laptops. Aktuelle Computer haben meist nur 10/100 Ethernet-Anschlüsse, während Macbooks Air, Ultrabooks, Subnotebooks etc. über keinerlei Ethernet-Anschlüsse mehr verfügen. Die vorhandenen USB 2.0 Gigabit Ethernet-Adapter sind durch den USB-2.0-Standard auf eine maximale Datenübertragungsgeschwindigkeit von 480 Mbit/s begrenzt, während unser DIGITUS Gigabit Ethernet USB-3.0-Adapter Geschwindigkeiten von 1000 Mbit/s erreicht. Durch seinen geringen Stromverbrauch von 200 mA kann der Adapter auch problemlos mit einem Macbook Pro sowie Macbook Air verwendet werden.
